![]() FREEDOM WALK: UHOP Youth walking on FREEDOM ROAD at the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site March 10th 2001 - Saturday: Youth
from across the Augusta District (Atlanta, Dearing, Motherhouse) gathered
in Atlanta for the District Youth Convention. During the morning session,
members viewed exhibits and participated in workshops. In the early
afternoon, the youth took a field trip to the Martin Luther King Jr.
National Historic Site. They visited the Tomb of MLK and Ebenezer Baptist
Church where the Civil Rights Leader pastored during the 1960s. Later
that evening, the convention reached its climax with a special program
featuring bands from across the district at UHOP Atlanta.
