EXCERPTS FROM SELECTED SERMONS

"IN THE WORLD, BUT NOT OF THE WORLD."
THE CHOSEN OF GOD
DELIVERED BY APOSTLE MARION JOHNSON, JR. ON SUNDAY, 19
JANUARY 2003
If you know Christ, it
is because Christ knew you first! And maybe some of you at this point
have not let your faith go to the mark that you know that Christ knows
you.
In St. John 15:16, Jesus said, "Ye
have not chosen me." Some of you think that you're here because
you have chosen God, but I'm here to let you know that the only reason
why you're sitting (or standing) where you are is because Christ has
chosen you.
How many of you know that you've been
chosen by God? How many of you know that you are "in the world,
but not of the world?" You might fool me, but you can't fool God.
How many of you want a new citizenship? Citizenship carries with it
governance. You can't be a citizen of the US and not obey the laws of
the US. If you're a citizen of Heaven, you've got to obey the laws of
Heaven. You are the elect of God! In St. John 10: 28-30, Jesus said,
"Those whom God has given unto me, no man can pluck them from out
of my hand."
